West Hants Regional Municipality has partnered with SwitchPACE CIC to help INSPIRE the community and bring energy efficient renovations to our community. Whether you are looking to install solar panels, switch to a heat pump, or insulate your home, we will be there to help guide you along every step of the way. Through the Switch Program, we are helping our communities save money and energy, while working toward a sustainable future.

Program Summary
The Switch West Hants Program was created to make completing a home energy upgrade as easy and financially viable as it can be. Program participants will have access to a personal “Energy concierge” who’s job is to make the complicated energy upgrade process simple. Your Energy Concierge will assist with all facets of the upgrade process, acting as the homeowners guide and advocate to complete their desired upgrade with maximum savings.
Alongside the Energy Concierge, the Switch West Hants Program also offers financing to remove barriers to entry. Often-times the upfront dollars to complete an energy upgrade are impossible for homeowners to overcome. That’s why the program will pay your contractor upfront with homeowners paying the program back with small monthly payments over 10 years. The program financing was designed to have your monthly savings from your upgrade exceed the monthly loan payments; saving money and increasing home efficiency and comfort.
The Switch West Hants Program will support almost any project that saves energy and reduces greenhouse gas emissions.
These projects not only reduce your GHG emissions but also improve your ability to adapt to climate change.

Financing
Have your project pay for itself through energy savings!
The Switch Program was designed to have your monthly savings exceed monthly payments.
Key Financing Terms
- Financing through your property, not personal credit
- Fixed interest rate!
- 10 year terms
- One time 5% project and loan administration fee
- Early, partial or full repayments accepted
- Finance up to $40,000 or 25% of your property value (whichever is less)
- Low monthly payments with typical savings that will exceed payments
Combine With Other Incentives
- You could be eligible for up to $10,000 in incentives from Efficiency NS
- Up to $5,000 in grants through the new Federal Greener Homes Program!
- An additional $5,000 is available for heat pumps through the “Oil to Heat Pump Affordability Program!”
- We’ll ensure you take advantage of all existing incentives!
- Use your Switch West Hants loan to act as bridge financing to the 0% Federal Greener Homes Loan!
